We bite into them, we cut them, we pick at them, in fact, we have declared all out war in order to get rid of them. What is this horrible thing we work so hard to get rid of? Cuticles. However, did you know, that your cuticles do serve a purpose? Your Cuticles are a […]
This was such an easy manicure to create and I love the modern look.
An Easy Nail Design to Create Using Jamberry
To create this nail design you will need Jamberry Nail Wrap called “Masterpiece”, and Holographic lacquer “That Glo Thou”. Because I have terrible ridges on my nails, I always use Jamberry Ridge Filler, which also prevents any damage during removal or staining from lacquers. If you are still heating your wraps up with a hair dryer, I cannot encourage you enough to bite the bullet and purchase yourself the mini heater. Jamberry is all about the ease of applying a manicure, not using the proper tools, makes application anything but easy.
I always begin each manicure with proper preparation of my nails. This includes pushing back my cuticles, shaping my nails, washing my hands, followed by a light buff and then a wipe of Jamberry Nail Prep. Proper nail preparation is vital in ensuring that your Jamberry Nail Wraps adhere well to your nails, and last as long as possible.
Once, nail preparation is completed, I apply a thin coat of my Jamberry Ridge Filler. This drys very quickly, and I immediately do a quick buff of each nail and wipe each nail down again with Jamberry Nail Prep. After sizing each wrap, I cut them and using an orange stick lift them off the backing sheet. It’s important not to touch the wrap with your fingers, as this will transfer oil onto the wrap. Metalic wraps are more difficult to apply than gloss wraps, but we all love metallics and sparkles. Here is the trick to getting a great application with metallic wraps.
The Secret to Great Metallic Application
Whenever I tried wearing Metallic Jamberry Wraps, I always get puckers, buckles, and wrinkles. Here is how you eliminate those application issues, over heat your wraps. After you have lifted the wrap off the backing with the orange stick, place it in front of your heater until the wrap is soft and curls. Apply immediately. It does take a little patience and practice to place the hot, curled wrap in the proper spot – be patient with yourself. Once the wrap is in place, use your thumb to run down the center and up each side. Do not use a lot of force, as this will stretch the wrap, gentle pressure will do. You will get a perfect application. Once the Jamberry Nail wrap has cooled, using a glass file at a 45-degree angle, remove the excess wrap. Only go in a downward motion.
This nail design pops with the one accent nail. Many times, I will use another wrap for the accent nail or nails, but “That Glo Thou” holographic lacquer just arrived in the mail, and I was dying to give it a try. Again, the secret to good lacquer application is nail prep, and then apply thin layers of lacquer. I applied two layers of “That Glo Thou” followed by a clear top coat 15 minutes later.
I am loving my new nail design, but, I am sure as soon as Jamberry releases another beautiful and easy nail design, I will be taking this one off and putting a new one on.
